A worthy heir to a lineage of explorers, Charles is an inspiring leader who shares his love of adventure. Whether it’s a ski crossing, a canoe trip, or a backcountry trek in the Canadian Rockies, he always finds a way to enhance an expedition.
Windigo’s Legacy: Over Four Centuries of Exploration and Discovery
The history of Windigo dates back to 1560! That year, an explorer commissioned by the English crown named Martin Frobisher led an expedition to explore the seas north of Canada. He paved the way for navigation in the Northwest Passage and gave his name to one of the most important bays in the American Arctic.
Passionate about adventure and inspired by his ancestor, Charles Frobisher founded Windigo, an adventure travel agency in North America, more than four centuries later.
Since 1996, our team of enthusiasts has been introducing travelers from around the world to their North America. A country of wide-open spaces, high mountains, dense forests, and endless deserts. A country best explored on foot, a country best experienced from the inside, as an actor rather than a spectator.
For over 30 years, we’ve been traveling the continent to discover new backroads to explore with you. Our professional guides share their love of nature with small groups of budding adventurers and seasoned explorers

Windigo is a DMC and a ground operator and a one stop shop for Canada and USA. We have a full control on product quality and can create unique experiences by doing it ourselves. In the section The Windigo Way of our website we explain all that we do to make all trips high-quality unique experiences – https://windigo.travel/en/windigo-way/. All trips we do are custom and exclusive to the client. We act as a white label company and disappear behind the brand we represent. We have a large fleet of vehicle and trailer to transport guest all over North America. We have a large inventory of equipment to run camping trips and on those camping, trips are guides are also amazing chefs. Travellers are always surprised how well they ate on a camping trip. We own an impressive quantity of permits that allow us to take our guest in most of the parks and great attractions of both countries.

Brandon is a lifelong outdoor enthusiast, shaped by Boy Scouts and outdoor education through post‑secondary studies. He was married atop Fernie Alpine Resort and skied down with his wife. Today, he shares his passion with his sons, measuring life by days spent skiing and camping.

Having grown up in the American Southwest, which is in itself an ode to the magnificence of nature, Joanna shares her love for her native region with constant energy.

Since the opening of our branch in the United States, she has shared her desire for exploration, self-improvement, and communion with nature with her entire team.
