A week in Cape Town

Come and explore all the attractions of the vibrant multi-cultural city of Cape Town. Start off by exploring the interesting shops, galleries and restaurants along Bree and Long Streets. Feed your inner child while on a chocolate tour of Cape Town during which you will learn about the history of the production of chocolate and sample delicious artisanal creations.

While on a tour of the scenic Cape winelands, you’ll sample fine South African wines and taste some of the delicious local produce. Take in the beauty of the landscape on a Cape Peninsula tour. Learn about the violent history of South Africa while touring District Six and Robben Island where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned for 18 years.

Take in some of the culture of the City while exploring the Technicolor Cape Malay suburb of the Bo-Kaap. For something different go on a beer tasting tour and sample some locally produced craft beers and take a tour of a brewery which uses old school techniques to brew the finest draughts around. Day 1: Cape Town
Upon your arrival in the beautiful city of Cape Town you will be met at the airport by one of our representatives and given more information about your trip, as well as be assisted with collecting your rental car. Once you have checked into your hotel, the rest of the day is yours to spend at leisure. You can explore the vibrant Long and Bree Streets or visit the Waterfront and harbor.

Day 2: Cape Town Chocolate experience
This morning you will delight in an indulgent chocolate tour which visits an artisanal chocolatier who handcrafts his delicacies using traditional methods. The tour includes an overview of the history of chocolate production while touring an imitation chocolate plantation and 17 centaury factory. Then you will have the opportunity to let your creative juices flow while making your own edible delicacies to take away with you.

Day 3: Cape Winelands
Today you will head out to the beautiful Cape Winelands which are renowned for their verdant vineyards, pretty Cape Dutch architecture and not least fine vintages. You will visit several wine estates to enjoy wine tastings and visit the historic town of Stellenbosch. There are many interesting stores, curio shops and art galleries to explore in the centre of Stellenbosch.

Day 4: Cape Peninsula
Explore the scenically beautiful Cape Peninsula today while on a full day tour to Cape Point. You will pass through the picturesque fishing villages of Hout Bay and Fish Hoek. The journey will take you through the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve which is home to antelope such as bontebok and eland. Take a stroll up to the lighthouse at Cape Point and admire the scenery.

On the return journey, you will stop at Boulders Beach where you can see a colony of land-based endangered African penguins and explore the naval base of Simonstown. You will return to Cape Town and might like to go to the Waterfront in the harbour and sip on refreshing sundowners while watching the sunset.

Day 5: Cape Town City Tour
Start your journey by taking the Cable Car to the top of iconic Table Mountain and taking in the views of the city and Table Bay. Then visit the site where District Six stood and learn about the mass evictions and whole suburb that was razed to the ground under the Apartheid government. Then travel to the Bo-Kaap, the Cape Malay quarter renowned for its brightly painted homes. Travel to the top of Signal Hill and witness the firing of the Noon Gun.

Day 6: Cape Town Beer Tour
Today, you will take a gentle cycling tour through the centre of Cape Town and delve into the vibrant craft beer culture that exists in the city tasting some fine local and international craft beers along the way. Go on a tour of a traditional brewery, visit a lively pub which serves some of the best beers around and spend a relaxing afternoon in a beer garden taking in the vibrant atmosphere of the city.

Day 7: Robben Island Tour
This morning you will catch a ferry across to Robben Island, the maximum security prison where Nelson Mandela was incarcerated for 18 years under the Apartheid regime. You will be given a tour of the prison by a former political inmate who will give you insight into what life in the prison was like. The rest of the day is yours to spend at leisure and you might like to visit the Two Oceans Aquarium.

Day 8: Departure
This is the last morning of your Cape Town holiday package and after breakfast you will continue on to your next destination.
