Chobe & Okavango Delta Tour

Explore two of Botswana’s most iconic regions the Chobe National Park which is renowned for the many huge herds of elephants which congregate along the flood plains of the Chobe River in the dry season and the Okavango Detlta, a vast wetland oasis in the heart of the Kalahari Desert. Go on a sunset boat cruise on the Chobe River and see zebra, impala and elephants on the plains.

Catch a small bush plane and enjoy a flight over the Okavango and admire the beauty of the wetland below. Go on game drives in search of the areas larger animals such as buffalos and prides of lions. If you are lucky you will spot elusive leopards or the rarely seen Sitatunga antelope.

Day 1: Chobe National Park (1L, 1D)
Today you will arrive in Kasane, either on an international flight or by road from Victoria Falls. Please speak to our consultants about booking a few days in Victoria Falls before your trip. You will be met by one of the lodge representatives and driven to the lodge where you will check in and have some time to freshen up before the afternoon boat cruise.

This is a wonderful experience as you cruise along the Chobe River watching zebra
feeding on the floodplains, buffalo and herds of elephants coming to the water to drink. Sip on sundowners and take in the beautiful African sunset. Return to the lodge and savor a delicious dinner.

Day 2: Chobe National Park (1B, 1L, 1D)
In the morning you will enjoy a guided game drive in the Chobe National Park. This will allow you to explore further afield and see animals such as the endangered African Wild Dogs, herds of Kudu, and perhaps prides of lions. The extremely knowledgeable guides will tell you about the habits of the wildlife in the area. You will return to the lodge and the rest of the day is at leisure. You can speak to your consultant about adding in another river cruise or game drive on this day.

Day 3: Okavango Delta (1B, 1L, 1D)
Today after breakfast, you will be driven to the Kasane airport where you will catch a small Cessna plane which will fly you into a bush airstrip in the desert oasis in the heart of the Kalahari Desert – the Okavango Delta. This flight is one of the most scenic in the world, so keep your camera handy as you may see herds of elephants dotted in the flood plains below.

After arriving at the lodge, you will have lunch before having some time to relax. You will set out to explore the winding reed fringed picturesque palm islands of the Okavango Delta. You may see the water adapted lechwe antelope and many different species of birds.

Day 4: Okavango Delta (1B, 1L, 1D)
This morning you will explore the region while on a guided game drive. The Okavango supports a large number of animals as it is one of the only sources of permanent water in the region. Leopards are quite often seen in this area and if you are lucky you might get to see one. The rest of the day is yours at leisure. You can speak to your consultant about adding in an excursion in a traditional Mokoro canoe. These allow you to glide silently through the water, approaching closer to animals in order to observe their natural behavior.
